ABOUT AUSTIN HOPKINS

Austin is an award-winning director, cinematographer, and storyteller, recognized for over a decade of dynamic work across action sports, documentary, and commercial productions. His projects have reached global audiences through major platforms like HBO, Amazon, and Netflix, festival circuits, and live events.

Austin’s professional journey began when he packed his life into a Subaru and headed west to Wyoming, where he joined Teton Gravity Research in 2013. Over the next seven years, he played a vital role in their production and post-production teams. His rapid rise through the ranks saw him directing and filming ski, snowboard, bike, and climbing segments for films and branded content, all while gaining invaluable experience across productions of all shapes and sizes.

In 2020, Austin launched his own creative venture, blending his expertise with his passion for adventure. His work today is a seamless fusion of craft, exploration, and storytelling. From run-and-gun and scrappy teams to large-scale commercial projects, his ability to adapt in almost any environment brings a unique edge to every project he undertakes.

He currently lives in Boulder, Colorado and is allergic to cats.
